Arsenal’s defensive scheme in corners:
Arsenal defended by:
-4players(black) in first zone line.
-Martinelli(blue) defended short corner.
-Vieira(red)in rebound zone.
-4players(green) defended in man-marking system but not specefic players from southampton. Everyone defended the man near the zone he stood in.Jesus marked the player who stood infront of the near post,Saka marked the man infront of the far post, Odegard and Partey in middle.

Southampton’s plan:
To score a corner by flick,You should have a plan to win the first touch(the man who flicked the ball) and the second touch(the man who scored the goal).
-In the goal,Trossard(instead of Vieira as a substitution) was the responsible for rebound zone and helping Martinelli.

But Jesus moved quickly to help Martinelli and here one of Arsenal’s staff shouted to get him back.

Jesus told Trossard to stand instead of him but he didn't respond and let's say that this shape of southampton by many players starting in short and rebound zone forced Trossard to stay there.

Here jesus asked Trossard to stand instead of him.

-The player in yellow stood there to drag jesus( who should have stood in front of white).
-The player in blue started in front of Ramsdele then moved behind Holding then won the first touch.

After the cross, he moved from his initial position behind Holding and won the first touch.

-2 players (yellow) moved when the taker started moving to block Odegard and Partey.
-They blocked odegard and partey.

-And now how to win the second touch?
- First, the taker was right- footed to make the cross out- swing because Arsenal first zone line stood inclined a little outside like this.

This is an example for in swing cross.Arsenal stood inclined more inside.
-Note:that isn't a rule for all teams, some teams depended on probability of playing the cross on far post.

The player who scored the goal stood behind saka and didn't move until the ball was near the first player who flicked the ball and here Saka had an orientation problem because he couldn’t see the ball and the player at the same time.

An example from the previous match in the opposite direction showed that Martenilli marked the player and was still with him behind Tierney.
